There are two types of chlorinators. The “In-line” model is installed directly on the plumbing line before the return(s).
The “Off-line” model is installed on the filtration slab and connected to the plumbing with two hoses. If you have this type of chlorinator, check that it is installed in the direction of the water flow by locating the “In” and “Out” indications on its mouthpieces. If it has been installed in the opposite direction, it will impair its operation. If it is properly installed, check for debris trapped inside.
Note that annual maintenance and cleaning is required to ensure optimal operation. We recommend soaking the chlorinator and the hoses of the “Off-line” model in hot water to allow the chlorine residue to dissolve and repeat the operation as needed.
